Doors Open Toronto

// May 28th, 2006 // 1 Comment » // Neighbourhoods

Today my husband, my daughter and I plan to make the trek downtown for the Doors Open Toronto walk/photo shoot.

I will lend my daughter my Kodak digital camera so she can get some shots. I will be using an old Yashica Electro, and my honey will take his Nikormat.

With three of us taking pictures, we’re bound to accidentally shoot one good one, don’t you think?

If you’re downtown taking pics, we’re bound to run into each other. We’ll get some good exercise and, hopefully, sleep like logs tonight.

Hart House

Hart House

I had the occasion to go down to Hart House the other day to check out space.

I never really noticed before how beautiful some of those old buildings are.

I had a camera with me, but it’s not as if it was the best day for shooting, and I was almost out of film.

So I took a few pictures; I certainly didn’t do justice to any of them. I’d like to go over there again, because there are tons of picture opportunities that I’d love to get.

Now don’t everybody be going over there and taking my pictures. I will go back for more.

The architecture and structure of those buildings is just fabulous. Don’t ask me why I’m so into ‘building’ pictures.

How to Handle Busy

// May 17th, 2006 // No Comments » // Just Stuff

My work has a big event coming up next week, and I’m feeling a little, shall we say, overwhelmed? There is so much left to be done that I switched my weekend with my daughter to next weekend instead of this one. Just in case. And just in case is right, I figure I’m gonna have to work all weekend.

Perhaps I should put forth the idea of us not taking the stat holiday on Monday and instead taking it the following Monday. Maybe that would work – and give us an extra day of getting stuff ready.

The only problem with that is that none of the businesses we work with will be foregoing that stat holiday.

I think that they should make roaming stat holidays. That would work well. Work whenever you want and take the holidays on days that would be convenient.

Doesn’t this make sense politicians?
